CCL 108 EPABX intercom system with welcome message, 1 line and 8 extensions

CCL 108 vs CCL 108B EPABX: What the Extra Price Gets You

Short answer: both the CCL 108 (₹3,799) and the CCL 108B (₹3,200) connect 1 outside telephone line to 8 extensions. Pick the 108 if your phones answer outside calls: for ₹599 more its listing adds an inbuilt welcome message, internal and outside caller ID, hold music, conference and door phone connection. Pick the 108B if you mainly want staff or family to call each other and share one line, and you do not need callers greeted or numbers shown. Prices include GST and delivery across India is free.

What does the extra ₹599 get you?

The two exchanges are the same size, so the question is only about features. The ones that change daily use are these four.

  • Welcome message. When a customer calls your landline or SIM line, the 108 answers with a 10-second greeting before ringing reception. It also plays a short message when the extension is busy or nobody answers. For a shop, clinic or office, this alone makes the business sound organised.
  • Caller ID on extensions. The 108 passes the outside caller's number, and the calling extension's number on internal calls, to phones with a screen. That is the only way a Beetel C51 or X-90 cordless shows something useful behind an exchange. With plain C11 phones, caller ID makes no difference.
  • Music on hold and conference. Callers hear music instead of silence while you transfer them, and you can add two extensions to an outside call, useful when a partner or accountant needs to join.
  • Door phone connection. The 108 listing says it connects to a door phone and door lock, so the gate can ring an extension. The 108B listing does not mention this.

Spread over 8 extensions, the difference is under ₹75 a phone. For any business that takes customer calls, that is easy to justify.

When is the CCL 108B enough?

The 108B does the core job of an EPABX: 8 phones call each other free by dialling an extension number, and they all share one outside line for incoming and outgoing calls. Its listing names call routing to specific extensions and call forwarding. That covers a lot of buyers:

  • A house or farmhouse where family members call room to room and the landline is rarely used.
  • A school, PG or factory where phones are mostly for internal calls.
  • A pure intercom with no outside line connected at all, which both models support.
  • An office that already has a receptionist answering every call and uses plain phones without screens.

Choose the CCL 108 if…

  • Customers call your landline or SIM number and you want them greeted.
  • You use caller ID phones such as the C51 or X-90 at reception or in cabins.
  • You want hold music, three-way conference or a door phone on an extension.
  • You want speed dialling of up to 48 numbers.

Choose the CCL 108B if…

  • The system is mostly for internal calls between rooms or floors.
  • All extensions will be plain phones without a screen.
  • You want the lowest price for a 1-line, 8-extension exchange.

Ready kits with the CCL 108

If you go with the 108, these kits on our store bundle it with Beetel C11 phones. Their listings mention music on hold, call transfer, call parking and STD/ISD call restriction.

Kit Phones included Spare extension ports Price
Combo-CN45 2 × Beetel C11 6 ₹4,750
Combo-CN150 4 × Beetel C11 4 ₹5,900
Combo-CN115 8 × Beetel C11 0 ₹9,599

C11 phones have no screen. To make use of the 108's caller ID, swap one or two for a C51: our C11 vs C51 comparison shows where that is worth it.

There is also a CCL 108 SG at ₹5,850 on our store, but its listing does not give a feature list, so we have left it out of this comparison. Ask us on WhatsApp if you are considering it.

Before you buy either

  • Count your phones plus spares. Both models stop at 8 extensions. If you have 7 or 8 points today, look at the 206B, 308B or 216B in the EPABX price guide.
  • No landline? A GSM gateway gives either model a SIM-based outside line, and the 108's welcome message then greets callers on your mobile number.
  • Plan the cabling. Eight extensions is where an MDF box starts to make sense. See how an EPABX is wired.

Compare all models in EPABX systems and kits in intercom and telephone combos.

FAQ

What is the difference between CCL 108 and CCL 108B?

Both have 1 outside line and 8 extensions. The CCL 108 (₹3,799) adds a welcome message, internal and trunk caller ID, music on hold, conference and door phone connection over the 108B (₹3,200), according to their listings.

Does the CCL 108B support caller ID?

The 108B listing does not mention caller ID. If you want numbers to show on C51 or cordless phones, choose the CCL 108, whose listing states internal and trunk caller ID.

Can the CCL 108 work without a landline?

Yes. Both models work as an internal intercom with no outside line connected. For outside calls without a landline, add a GSM gateway with a SIM.

How long is the CCL 108 welcome message?

The listing gives 10 seconds for the welcome message and 5 seconds each for the busy and no-answer messages.

Can I add more than 8 phones to a CCL 108 or 108B?

No, both are limited to 8 extensions. For more phones, move up to a larger model such as the CCL 312B (12 extensions) or 216B (16 extensions).
