Short answer: in India a Wi-Fi CCTV camera for a home costs about ₹2,899 to ₹3,999, a wired 2MP HD camera ₹796 to ₹1,199 (a CP Plus dual-light bullet with a built-in mic is ₹4,599), and an 8-channel CP Plus network video recorder ₹5,999. 4G and solar cameras are listed at ₹3,450 to ₹7,500, but they are out of stock as we write this, so check availability first. A CCTV power supply costs ₹550 to ₹1,650. Memory cards and hard disks are extra: none of the cameras or the recorder below comes with one. How to read a CCTV camera listing
MP is resolution. 2MP is 1080p full HD. 3MP and 4MP show more detail when you zoom into a face or a number plate. PT (pan-tilt) means you can turn the camera left, right, up and down from the phone app. A bullet or dome camera stays fixed on one view.
IR night vision gives a black-and-white picture in the dark. Cameras sold as all-time colour, full colour or dual light also carry white or warm LEDs, so they can show colour at night.
AHD, CVI and TVI are analog HD formats. These wired cameras run on coaxial cable to a DVR. An NVR is a recorder for network (IP) cameras. The two are not interchangeable, so match the camera to the recorder before you buy.

Worked example: 2 Wi-Fi cameras for a 2BHK flat
Our wired cameras are analog HD models that record to a DVR, and we do not list a DVR on the website right now. So instead of a wired shop kit, here is what a typical 2BHK flat pays for two Wi-Fi cameras:
- Main door or balcony: CP Plus CP-Z43Q, ₹3,499. It is IP65 weatherproof, turns 345°, shows colour at night and lets you talk to whoever is at the door.
- Living room: Trueview T18296S, ₹3,999. With 352° of turn, one camera in a corner can watch the hall and the entrance.
- Two microSD cards: extra, bought separately. Both cameras take cards up to 256GB.
Total for the two cameras: ₹7,498, plus the memory cards. To spend less, use the fixed CP-V48A (₹2,899) outside the door instead of the CP-Z43Q, which brings the pair to ₹6,898. Each camera needs a power point nearby and a good Wi-Fi signal where it sits. The CP-Z43Q works on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.
What moves the price
- Pan-tilt. The fixed 4MP CP-V48A is ₹2,899. The 4MP CP-Z43Q, which turns and tilts, is ₹3,499. One pan-tilt camera can often do the job of two fixed ones in a room.
- Connection. Wi-Fi cameras are the cheapest way to start. 4G and solar models (listed ₹3,450 to ₹7,500) cost more because they carry a SIM modem and, in solar models, a panel and battery. A 4G camera also needs a data plan from your mobile operator.
- Colour night vision. A basic Jensonic AHD camera with IR is ₹796 to ₹999. The CP Plus dual-light bullet, with 30 m IR, 20 m warm light and a built-in mic, is ₹4,599.
- Recorder and storage. Wi-Fi cameras record to a memory card. Wired cameras need a recorder plus a hard disk. Neither the card nor the disk is included in the prices above.
- Power and cabling. Wired cameras need a 12V supply (the 4-channel DP-04 is ₹550), connectors and cable. Budget cable and an electrician's time on top.

Is a memory card included with a Wi-Fi camera?
No. None of the camera listings above includes a memory card, so buy one separately. The CP-Z43Q, Trueview T18290S and Trueview T18296S take microSD cards up to 256GB. The Trueview models also offer optional cloud storage.
Do I need internet for a Wi-Fi CCTV camera?
You need Wi-Fi at the camera's spot to set it up and to watch it live or get alerts on your phone. The CP-Z43Q runs on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. If the site has no Wi-Fi, a 4G camera with a SIM card is the better fit.
Can I connect these wired cameras to the CP Plus NVR?

How many cameras can one power supply run?
Go by the listing. The DP-04 is rated for up to four cameras and the CP Plus CP-DPS-PD08V2-12D has eight channels. For larger systems, the 12V 10A and 12V 20A supplies power several cameras from one unit. Always pick a supply rated above the total current of your cameras.
Is there a monthly charge for CCTV?
Not from us. A Wi-Fi or wired camera is a one-time purchase. Cloud storage, where a camera offers it, is optional. A 4G camera needs a SIM data plan from your mobile operator.
