Construction Site Security: 4G Solar Cameras, Sirens and Guard Tools
Short answer: on a construction site, most losses are steel, cement, cable and tools taken at night, often with someone on the inside. Solar sirens on the material store and stack area, a fingerprint padlock on the store, a hand-operated siren and metal detector for the guard and a guard tour system to prove night rounds cost about ₹33,500 at our prices; without the guard tour system, about ₹18,500. 4G solar cameras are the ideal camera for sites, but our three models are out of stock right now, so check availability. All prices below are our live website prices, include GST, and delivery across India is free.
A site changes every few weeks. The boundary is temporary, power is temporary, and the people change as each contractor finishes. So the tools here are portable, need little or no wiring, and can move to your next site.
What does a construction site need, and why?
- Alarms that do not need mains power. Temporary connections trip and get disconnected. The SRSOL-43 solar siren charges its own battery from its solar panel, has a flashing light, and talks to sensors and remotes on 433 MHz. Its listing says it can work as an alarm host on its own.
- A sensor on the store door. The material store or container holds the costliest items. A door sensor on it trips the siren the moment the door opens while armed.
- A motion sensor on the open stack. Steel bars and cement bags often sit in the open. A PIR sensor covering that area raises the alarm when someone walks in at night.
- A keyless lock for the store. Keys get copied and passed between shifts. A fingerprint padlock has no key to copy, and you can remove a finger when a supervisor leaves.
- Tools for the guard. A siren he can sound without electricity, a metal detector for checking bags at the labour gate, and a way for you to see he actually did his rounds.
Shopping list with prices
We assumed a residential or small commercial site with one material store or container, one open stack area, one labour gate, a night guard, and a temporary power connection that is not reliable.
| Item | What it does | Qty | Unit price | Line total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Solar siren kit: SRSOL-43, MCT-43 door sensor, 2 remotes | Store or container door | 1 | ₹4,049 | ₹4,049 |
| Solar siren kit: SRSOL-43, PIMS-43 PIR, 2 remotes | Open steel and cement stack | 1 | ₹4,249 | ₹4,249 |
| FPAL-2K fingerprint padlock | Store lock, up to 50 fingers, USB charging | 1 | ₹3,299 | ₹3,299 |
| HSR-1K hand-operated siren | Guard's alarm, works without power, up to 1 km range | 1 | ₹4,999 | ₹4,999 |
| TECH-03 hand metal detector | Bag and tool checks at the labour gate | 1 | ₹1,899 | ₹1,899 |
| Subtotal without guard tour | ₹18,495 | |||
| GTS62C guard tour system with 10 RFID checkpoints | Proof of night rounds | 1 | ₹14,990 | ₹14,990 |
| Total | ₹33,485 |
Fixing brackets and installation are extra. The two siren kits are separate, so each sounds at its own spot. The remotes let the guard or supervisor arm and disarm them.
4G solar cameras for construction sites
A 4G solar camera carries its own SIM card, solar panel and battery. It needs no Wi-Fi and no power cable, which is why it suits a site so well, and it moves with you when the project ends. These are the models we list. All three are out of stock at the time of writing, so check availability or ask us before planning around them.
| Model | What the listing says | Stock |
|---|---|---|
| Realtime C9 eco solar 4G PTZ camera | 4G, solar, built-in 18500mAh battery, PIR with human detection, two-way audio, SD card up to 256GB | Out of stock, check availability |
| Realtime C9 Eco Plus solar 4G/5G PTZ camera | Solar, weatherproof, 3-day battery backup, SD card storage | Out of stock, check availability |
| Trueview 3MP 4G mini pan-tilt camera | 3MP, 4G, pan-tilt | Out of stock, check availability |
If your site office has a broadband line or a 4G Wi-Fi router and steady power, a Wi-Fi camera such as the CP Plus CP-V48A (₹2,899, outdoor, built-in mic and speaker) works in the meantime. See the CCTV camera price guide for more.
How does a guard tour system work?
- Fix the 10 RFID checkpoints at key spots: the store, the stack, the back boundary, the lift shaft and the gate.
- The guard carries the reader stick and touches each checkpoint on every round.
- The stick records the time at each point.
- In the morning, the supervisor downloads the record and sees whether the rounds were done, and when.
The system does not stop a thief by itself. What it does is keep the night guard walking instead of sleeping in the cabin, which is often what decides whether theft happens at all.
Practical tips that cost nothing
- Keep the store and stack in one corner near the guard cabin, so the sirens and the guard cover the same area.
- Arm the siren kits every evening as a fixed closing step, and disarm them in the morning with the remote.
- Change the store fingers when a supervisor or contractor leaves.
- Check bags at the labour gate every day, not only after a loss, so the check is routine and not personal.
- Move the kit to your next site. Everything in this list is portable.
Optional upgrades
- Remote-triggered siren with revolving light: the Combo-CN28 (₹3,999) is a 30W 220V siren with revolving light and a receiver with 2 remotes, for sites with steady temporary power.
- Warning for cranes and loading: the TBJ-100 sound and light alarm (₹3,949) gives a 120 dB siren with a red LED flashing light on 220V AC.
- Boundary beam with its own siren: the Combo-CN100 dual beam kit (₹5,499) includes a 100 m dual beam, timer board, 12V siren, remote receiver, 2 remotes and power supply. It needs power at both beam ends. Read the beam sensor guide.
Browse guard and security equipment, siren alarm kits and 4G and solar cameras, or plan a full system in the Security System Builder. For a larger site with a permanent store, the warehouse security guide adds beams, a GSM alarm and access control.
FAQ
How do I stop theft at a construction site?
Put solar sirens with door and motion sensors on the store and stack, lock the store with a fingerprint padlock, check bags at the labour gate and use a guard tour system to make sure night rounds happen. Our list costs ₹33,485, or ₹18,495 without the guard tour system.
Which camera is best for a construction site without power?
A 4G solar camera, which has its own SIM, solar panel and battery. We list the Realtime C9 eco, C9 Eco Plus and a Trueview 4G mini camera, but all are out of stock at the time of writing. Check availability on the product pages.
Can a siren work on a site with no electricity?
Yes. The SRSOL-43 solar siren charges its own battery from its solar panel, and the HSR-1K siren is cranked by hand, so neither needs mains power.
What does a guard tour system do?
The guard touches RFID checkpoints around the site with a reader stick on each round. The stick records the time at each point, so you can check the rounds were done. The GTS62C comes with 10 checkpoints.
Why use a metal detector at a site gate?
To check bags and pockets for tools, copper wire and fittings as workers leave. The TECH-03 gives an audio, visual and vibration alert and runs on a rechargeable 9V battery with a charging station.
Can I reuse site security equipment on my next project?
Yes. The solar siren kits, padlock, hand siren, metal detector and guard tour system are all portable and can move to the next site.
