Hotel Door Lock Price in India (October 2026): RFID Card Locks, Energy Savers and Encoders
Short answer: in India an RFID card hotel door lock costs about ₹4,500 per door, a key card energy saver switch ₹1,200 to ₹2,150 per room, and a card encoder with hotel software ₹7,500 to ₹8,000 (one per property). What you are actually buying
A card-based hotel setup has four parts. A room lock on each guest door reads the card. An energy saver switch inside each room turns the room's power on when the card is inserted and off when the guest leaves. A card encoder at reception, connected to a computer, writes each guest card for the right room and stay. And the cards themselves, which are cheap and replaceable. You pay for the lock and energy saver once per room, the encoder once per property, and cards as you need them. For how the parts work and how to plan wiring, see our hotel lock and energy saver buying guide.
Price table: hotel RFID room locks (NavKar Systems, 27 October 2026)
| Model | Cards it reads | Power and door | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| SHL-09 aluminium alloy hotel lock (with free software) | Mifare-1 (13.56 MHz), Temic 5557 or EM card (100 to 150 kHz); reads at 0 to 5 cm | 4 AA batteries, over 15,000 openings; spare mechanical key; doors 38 to 55 mm thick | ₹4,500 |
The SHL-09 relocks by itself 6 seconds after a valid card if the handle is not turned. When the batteries drop below 4.8V it gives a sound and light warning but still opens about 100 more times, so staff have time to change them. We currently list 5 SHL-09 locks in stock. For 10 or more rooms, WhatsApp us to confirm availability before you order.

Worked example: a 10-room guest house
Here is what a basic card setup for 10 rooms costs at today's prices:
- 10 room locks: 10 x SHL-09 at ₹4,500 = ₹45,000
- 10 energy savers: 10 x SES-15 at ₹1,200 = ₹12,000
- 1 encoder: SCR-18 = ₹8,000
- Cards: MFC-1K Mifare 1K, pack of 50 = ₹850 (enough for two or three cards per room plus spares)
- Total: ₹65,850, or about ₹6,585 per room.
Why these parts together: the SHL-09 listing says it reads Mifare-1 cards at 13.56 MHz, and the MFC-1K cards are Mifare 1K at 13.56 MHz. The SES-15 accepts any card in its slot, so the guest's room card also switches on the power. The SCR-18 encoder supports MIFARE at 13.56 MHz, but its listing names Pro USB V9 software while the lock listing only says "free software". So confirm compatibility on WhatsApp for the lock and encoder pair before you order for the whole property. Wiring the energy savers and fitting the locks is extra; budget for an electrician and a carpenter.
If you want RFID energy savers instead, swapping 10 SES-15 for 10 RFSES-15 adds ₹9,500, bringing the total to ₹75,350. The RFSES-15 listing does not name the card types it reads, so confirm compatibility on WhatsApp for that one too.
What moves the price
- Number of rooms. Each room adds one lock and one energy saver: ₹5,700 per room with the SES-15, ₹6,650 with the RFSES-15.
- Slot or RFID energy saver. The slot-type SES-15 is ₹950 cheaper per room and works with any card. The RFSES-15 reacts to an RFID key card.
- The encoder is a one-time cost. ₹7,500 to ₹8,000 whether you have 5 rooms or 50, so the cost per room falls as the property grows.
- Card pack size. A pack of 10 Mifare 1K cards works out to about ₹20 a card; the pack of 200 is about ₹12 a card. Printable Mifare Classic 4K cards cost more at ₹2,550 for 10.
- Door type. The SHL-09 suits doors 38 to 55 mm thick, with 45 mm best. If the door has a decorative edge, the listing asks for over 130 mm from that edge to the door edge. Measure before you order.
Which setup for your property
- Small PG or homestay, 5 rooms: 5 SHL-09 locks, 5 SES-15 switches, one SCR-18 encoder and a pack of 10 cards: ₹36,699.
- Guest house, 10 rooms: the worked example above, ₹65,850.
- Hotel, 20 rooms: 20 SHL-09 locks, 20 SES-15 switches, one SCR-18 and a pack of 100 cards: ₹1,23,499. WhatsApp us first to confirm lock stock for this many rooms.
- Power saving only, no new locks: just the SES-15 at ₹1,200 per room. Any card works in it.
- Guest wardrobes or pool lockers: the MFCL-200 at ₹1,549, or Combo-CN183 with wrist bands at ₹2,199.

FAQ
Does the hotel lock work during a power cut?
Yes. The SHL-09 runs on 4 AA batteries, not mains power. It warns you when the batteries are low and still opens about 100 more times. A spare mechanical key is included for emergencies.
Can one card open the door and switch on the room power?
With the SES-15, yes. It accepts any card in its slot, so the guest uses the same room card. For the RFID-based RFSES-15, confirm compatibility on WhatsApp.
Do I need a card encoder?
Yes, if you want to issue and cancel guest cards from reception. The encoder connects to a computer and writes each card from the hotel lock software. One encoder serves the whole property.
Which cards work with the SHL-09 lock?
The listing names Mifare-1 cards at 13.56 MHz, Temic 5557 cards and EM cards at 100 to 150 kHz. Our MFC-1K Mifare 1K cards are 13.56 MHz and start at ₹199 for 10.
What door thickness does the lock need?
Between 38 and 55 mm, with 45 mm best. Tell us if your door is thicker than 55 mm.
What can the energy saver switch control?
The SES-15 is rated 240V, 40A, with 15 or 30 second delay options. Have an electrician wire it and keep the connected load within the rating. All prices include GST, and delivery across India is free.
