RFID Hotel Lock Systems for Hotel Projects: What Owners and Contractors Need to Plan
Short answer: an RFID hotel lock system needs four things: a card lock on every guest door, an energy saver switch in every room, one card encoder at reception and a stock of key cards. With our listed parts, that works out to about ₹5,700 per room plus a one-time ₹8,000 encoder, so a 30-room hotel totals about ₹1,80,499 and a 60-room hotel about ₹3,52,449 at Indian retail prices. For projects of this size, stock, lead time and the lock-encoder-software pairing are confirmed in a project quote; bulk and export pricing is quoted on request.
What does each room need, and why?
- A card lock on the guest door. The SHL-09 runs on 4 AA batteries, so it needs no wiring to the door. Its listing states over 15,000 openings per set of batteries, a low-battery warning below 4.8 V with about 100 more openings, automatic relocking after 6 seconds, and a spare mechanical key for emergencies.
- An energy saver switch inside the room. The guest inserts the room card to switch the room's power on; removing it cuts the power. This stops lights and air conditioning running in empty rooms.
- Key cards. Plan two or three cards per room, plus staff and spare cards. Cards are cheap and get lost, so order more than you think.
- One encoder for the property. The encoder sits at reception, connects to a computer, and writes each guest card for the right room and stay.

Shopping list for 30 and 60 rooms
Assumptions: one SHL-09 lock and one SES-15 energy saver per room, one SCR-18 encoder for the property, and about three Mifare cards per room (a pack of 100 for 30 rooms, a pack of 200 for 60 rooms).
| Item | 30 rooms | 60 rooms |
|---|---|---|
| SHL-09 locks at ₹4,500 | 30 = ₹1,35,000 | 60 = ₹2,70,000 |
| SES-15 energy savers at ₹1,200 | 30 = ₹36,000 | 60 = ₹72,000 |
| SCR-18 encoder at ₹8,000 | 1 = ₹8,000 | 1 = ₹8,000 |
| MFC-1K cards | Pack of 100 = ₹1,499 | Pack of 200 = ₹2,449 |
| Total | ₹1,80,499 (about ₹6,017 per room) | ₹3,52,449 (about ₹5,874 per room) |
| Total with RFSES-15 instead of SES-15 | ₹2,08,999 | ₹4,09,449 |
India writes large numbers in lakhs: ₹1,80,499 is 180,499 rupees and ₹3,52,449 is 352,449 rupees. These are website retail prices and include GST, India's Goods and Services Tax. Bulk and export pricing is quoted on request, and installation, cabling and carpentry are not included.
Stock and lead time
Website stock today shows 5 SHL-09 locks, 15 SES-15 switches, 10 RFSES-15 switches and 10 SCR-18 encoders. A 30 or 60-room order is larger than the stock shown, so the project quote confirms availability and lead time for each line before you commit. Plan your opening date around the confirmed lead time, not around website stock.
Compatibility caveats to settle first
- Lock, encoder and software. The SHL-09 listing says it comes with free software but does not name it. The SCR-18 listing names Pro USB V9 hotel software and supports MIFARE at 13.56 MHz. Confirm the exact lock, encoder and software pairing with us before ordering for the whole property.
- Card type. The MFC-1K cards are Mifare 1K at 13.56 MHz, which matches the Mifare-1 type the SHL-09 listing names. Keep all cards on one type.
- RFID energy savers. The RFSES-15 listing does not name the card types it reads, so confirm it with your chosen cards. The slot-type SES-15 accepts any card.
- Doors. The SHL-09 suits doors 38 to 55 mm thick, with 45 mm best; tell us if your doors are thicker. If the door face is decorated, the listing asks for more than 130 mm between the decorative edge and the door edge.
- Electrical supply. Both energy savers are rated for 240 V. If your country uses a different mains voltage, ask before ordering, check your local electrical rules, and have a qualified electrician wire the switches within the 40 A rating.
- Front desk computer. The SCR-18 listing names Windows 10, 7, XP and Linux. Check that your reception computer runs one of these.
- Certifications. Rely only on what each listing states. If your project needs a particular approval, ask about that exact model first.
A sensible way to run the project
- Send room count, door thickness and photos of a typical door through the Bulk and Project Enquiry page or WhatsApp +91 91384 68548.
- Order one sample room first: one lock, one energy saver, the encoder and a card pack. Fit it, programme it and test it with your staff.
- Confirm the full quantities in the project quote, including price, payment method, shipping and lead time.
- Fit locks floor by floor, and wire energy savers before final room finishing.
Website checkout and free delivery are for addresses in India. Overseas hotel owners and contractors can follow how overseas businesses request a quote.
Optional upgrades
- Second encoder for a second reception desk or back office: one more SCR-18 at ₹8,000.
- Wardrobe locks: the MFCL-200 RFID cabinet lock at ₹1,549 per room for in-room wardrobes; confirm card compatibility with us.
- RFID energy savers: the RFSES-15 at ₹950 more per room than the SES-15.
