What Does Access Control for an Office Glass Door Cost?
Short answer: access control for one office glass door costs about ₹5,450 to ₹8,600 for card and PIN entry, and ₹9,000 to ₹15,000 with fingerprint or face recognition, at our current prices including GST. The lowest figure is a ready kit; the higher card-and-PIN figure is a part-by-part build with a no-touch exit sensor, break-glass and 25 cards. Add an electrician's fitting charge and cable on top.
The situation
A typical case: a small office or clinic with one toughened glass entrance door, 10 to 20 staff, and a reception that wants the door locked but easy to open from inside. The glass leaf has a fixed frame or wall above it, and nobody wants holes drilled in the glass. If your glass door has no frame at all, or it is a double door, the totals change slightly; both are covered below.
What you need and why
- An EM lock (600 lbs). The magnet sits on the frame above the door and holds a steel plate on the glass. It is fail-safe, so the door opens if power fails, which is what you want on an office exit.
- A glass bracket. A U bracket clamps onto the glass leaf and carries the steel plate, so the glass is not drilled. If there is glass on every side with no frame, you need a GG bracket instead. Our bracket guide shows which is which.
- A reader. Card and PIN is the cheapest. Staff tap a card; visitors can be given a PIN.
- A 12 V access control power supply. Powers the lock and reader from a 230 V socket.
- An exit switch inside. So people leave without a card. A no-touch sensor avoids greasy marks and shared touching.
- An emergency break-glass. Cuts power to the lock in a fire or if the reader fails. Strongly advised on any main exit.
- Cards. One per staff member, plus a few spares.

What else adds to the bill?
- Fitting. An electrician needs to fix the lock and bracket, mount the reader and exit switch, and wire the power supply. Ask for a fixed quote per door.
- Cable and conduit. A 4-core or 6-core cable from the door to the power supply, plus conduit or casing for a neat finish on office walls.
- A working door closer. The lock can only hold a door that shuts fully. If the existing patch fitting or closer is weak, fix that first.
- A reception release button. A second push button at the front desk, wired in parallel with the exit switch, lets the receptionist open the door for visitors.
Optional upgrades
- All-glass door with no frame: replace the U bracket with a BRGG-EM GG bracket (₹1,600), adding ₹1,150 to the build above.
- Fingerprint instead of cards: swap the WP-25 for the FP-45 fingerprint, card and PIN reader (₹4,900), adding ₹1,500.
- Lock stays powered in cuts: add battery backup; our power supply guide explains sizing.
- Open from your phone: card kits with a Wi-Fi receiver start at ₹7,050, such as Combo-CN151.

FAQ
How much does access control for a glass door cost in India?
On our store, a complete card and PIN kit for one glass door starts at ₹5,450 (Combo-CN41). A fuller build with a no-touch exit sensor, break-glass and 25 cards comes to ₹8,598. Fingerprint and face kits run from ₹8,999 to ₹14,999.
Do you need to drill the glass?
No. A U bracket or GG bracket clamps onto the glass with pads, and the steel plate fixes to the bracket. Toughened glass should never be drilled after it is made.
Which lock is best for an office glass door?
A 600 lbs EM lock with a U bracket is the most common choice because it is fail-safe and needs no cutting. A frameless glass drop bolt is neater but needs a door that closes accurately.
What does a double glass door need?
Two locks, one per leaf. Combo-CN224 includes two drop bolts and two drop bolt U brackets with one reader for ₹9,449.
Can reception open the glass door without getting up?
Yes. Fit a second push button at the reception desk, wired in parallel with the exit switch, so pressing it releases the lock for the set door-open time.
Is installation included in the price?
No. Prices are for the products only. We guide your electrician on call and WhatsApp, free.
