Standalone Siren Alarms: Solar Motion Sirens and Door Alarms That Need No Panel
Short answer: you can get a loud alarm without buying an alarm panel. For a door or window, the MC-AL door alarm (from ₹299) has the siren built in. For a shop shutter, the SH-AL (₹2,199) does the same job. For a yard, farm or gate, the PIM-SOL solar motion siren (₹2,499) charges from the sun and sounds when it sees movement. If you want an app alert on your phone too, a Wi-Fi siren such as the SRN-TY (₹2,950) learns 433 MHz sensors directly, no panel needed. The catch: apart from the Wi-Fi siren, these alarms only alert people within earshot, not your phone.
Plenty of buyers do not need a full burglar alarm. A farmhouse owner wants a siren when someone enters the courtyard. A parent wants to hear the main door open at night. A shopkeeper wants the shutter to scream if it is lifted. In each case a standalone siren alarm is cheaper and simpler than a panel with a SIM card. This guide explains the types on our store, what each listing states, and when you should step up to a panel instead.
What does "no panel needed" mean?
In a normal alarm, sensors talk to a control panel and the panel sounds the siren and makes calls. A standalone alarm skips the panel. Either the sensor and siren are in one box (a door alarm, a shutter alarm, a solar motion siren), or the siren itself learns wireless sensors and remotes (a Wi-Fi siren or a remote-switched siren). You arm and disarm with a switch or remote. Setup takes minutes, and there is no SIM to recharge.

How does a solar motion siren work, and where should you fit it?
The PIM-SOL has a motion sensor, a siren and a strobe in one weatherproof body, with a solar panel that charges its battery. Its listing gives 2 to 12 m sensing distance at a 120° angle, and says one 6 to 8 hour solar charge keeps it working for around 30 days. You choose a mode by remote: sound and flash all day, flash only, or sound and flash only at night, among others. That makes it useful for a farmhouse gate, a cattle shed, an orchard path, a terrace or a parking area where running cable is a nuisance.
- Face it at the approach, such as the gate, the path or the wall top where someone would climb in.
- Give the panel sun. Mount it where it gets several hours of direct light a day.
- Mount it out of reach, high on a wall or pole, so it is not easy to pull down.
- Keep moving branches and animals' usual paths out of its view, or use the light-only mode near them.

Wi-Fi siren kits: app alerts without a panel
The SRN-TY sits between a standalone siren and a full alarm. It joins your Wi-Fi, sounds a 120 dB alarm and sends an alert to the Tuya app when one of its paired 433 MHz sensors trips. The listing says SMS and phone alerts need a paid service; the app alarm works on Wi-Fi. Ready kits save matching parts yourself:
| Kit | What is in the box | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Combo-CN275 | SRN-TY siren, 2 remotes, 12V adapter | ₹4,099 |
| Combo-CN284 | SRN-TY, SH-43 shutter sensor, 2 remotes, adapter | ₹5,199 |
| Combo-CN290 | SRN-TY, 1 MCT-43 door sensor, 1 PIMS-43 PIR, 2 remotes, adapter | ₹5,450 |
| Combo-CN287 | SRN-TY, 2 MCT-43 door sensors, 3 PIMS-43 PIRs, 2 remotes, adapter | ₹6,499 |
The kits are cheaper than building the same set yourself. Combo-CN275 plus a separate MCT-43 (₹650) and PIMS-43 (₹899) would cost ₹5,648, while Combo-CN290 gives you the same parts for ₹5,450.
Remote-switched sirens for shops, banks and factories
Sometimes you simply want a loud siren someone can set off. Combo-CN148 (₹1,699) is a 12V siren with a remote receiver and 2 remotes. Combo-CN123 (₹1,800) uses a foot pedal, so a cashier can raise the alarm without lifting a hand. For a louder outdoor alert, Combo-CN28 (₹3,999) pairs a 220V emergency-tone siren with revolving light, listed at 30W and 130 dB, with a receiver and 2 remotes. Our panic button guide for elderly parents covers the SRN-RM2 in more detail.
A note on our strobe and solar siren kits
Some kits in our siren range, such as the SRRD-43 strobe siren kits and SRSOL-43 solar siren kits with a door, PIR or shutter sensor, are add-ons for an existing compatible 433 MHz alarm panel. Their listings say the siren sounds when triggered by a compatible alarm system, so they are not standalone. Buy them to extend a panel you already own.
When should you buy a panel instead?
- The property is empty at night and nobody nearby will react to a siren.
- You want calls and SMS that work even when Wi-Fi is down.
- You need more than a handful of sensors in one place.
In those cases a Wi-Fi + GSM panel is the better buy; compare our options in ACJ-400 vs 405 vs 407. For a boundary wall, beam kits such as Combo-CN100 (₹5,499) come with their own siren and need no panel; see the beam sensor guide. Browse everything in siren alarm kits and sirens and hooters.
FAQ
Can I get a burglar alarm without a control panel?
Yes. Self-alarm door sensors, the SH-AL shutter alarm, the PIM-SOL solar motion siren and Wi-Fi sirens such as the SRN-TY all work without a panel.
Will a standalone siren alert my phone?
Only the Wi-Fi siren does, through the Tuya app. Door alarms, shutter alarms and solar sirens alert people nearby with sound and light.
Does a solar motion siren work at night?
Yes. The PIM-SOL charges by day and its listing says one charge keeps it working for around 30 days. It also has night-only modes.
What is the cheapest door alarm with a built-in siren?
The MC-AL at ₹299. The set of 4 costs ₹969, about ₹242 per door.
Can I add sensors to a Wi-Fi siren?
Yes. The SRN-TY listing says it learns up to 50 wireless detectors and 50 remotes, such as door sensors and PIRs.
Are the SRRD-43 and SRSOL-43 siren kits standalone?
No. Their listings describe them as sirens that sound when a compatible alarm panel triggers them, so they need a panel.
