ABT-250 triple infrared beam sensor pair for boundary wall security

Warehouse Security System: Beams, Alarms, Hooters and Access Control

Short answer: a typical single-shed warehouse or godown with a boundary wall can be covered by an intrusion alarm with infrared beams, shutter and door sensors, motion sensors and an outdoor siren for about ₹19,100. Add a 1 km hooter, an RFID lock on the office door, a fingerprint attendance machine, a fingerprint padlock for the side gate and two fire extinguishers, and the full setup comes to about ₹43,500. A warehouse is different from a shop. It is large, often empty at night, sits on a plot with a boundary wall, and has staff and trucks moving in and out all day. So security has to work at three levels: the boundary, the building, and who is allowed inside. This guide plans all three with products we stock.

What does a warehouse need, and why?

  • Beams on the boundary wall. An active infrared beam sensor is a transmitter and receiver fixed at two ends of a wall. When someone crosses the invisible line, the alarm trips. It warns you while the intruder is still outside the building. The ABT-250 uses 3 beams, and its listing gives up to 150 m between the pair.
  • An alarm panel that dials out. The ACJ-400 uses Wi-Fi and GSM, works with door, PIR, smoke, shutter and beam sensors, and calls or messages preset numbers when one trips. At 3 am, that call is what gets someone to the site.
  • Shutter and door sensors. The main shutter gets a plunger shutter sensor and the office door a magnetic contact.
  • Motion sensors inside. Thieves also come through roof sheets and exhaust openings. PIR sensors cover the open floor.
  • A hooter you control. A 1 km hooter is useful for shift start, lunch and closing, and as an emergency warning across a large yard.
  • Access control and attendance. Card or PIN entry for the office or stock room, and a fingerprint machine for punch records. This is where most inside losses are stopped.

Cable for the beams, poles or brackets, a SIM card and the electrician are extra. Beam sensors need a power supply at each end, so plan a power point near both corners of each wall run.

How should beams be laid out on a warehouse wall?

  1. Walk the boundary first. Mark each straight run where someone could climb in. Gates and corners usually need their own pair.
  2. Keep the line clear. Trees, hanging wires and stacked material break the beam and cause false alarms. Multi-beam sensors like the ABT-250 help, because all beams must be blocked, which filters out birds and falling leaves.
  3. Mount on the inner side of the wall top, on brackets, so a climber has to cross the beam to get in.
  4. Do not stretch the rated distance. Rated range is measured in good conditions. Leave headroom for dust and fog.
  5. Link it to the panel. The CN25 beam is wired to the ACJ-400. For a far wall, the CN35 kit adds a 433 MHz wireless sensor so you do not need to run a cable back to the panel.

Access control and attendance: where losses really happen

Most warehouse losses are not break-ins. They are stock walking out during the day. Two simple steps help. First, keep the office or high-value store behind a card or PIN lock, so only named staff can open it and a lost tag can be removed. The CN152 kit includes the reader, drop bolt lock, K80 supply, exit button and 10 key tags. Second, record attendance on a fingerprint machine so you know who was on site. Note that the S-B251CB is for attendance only, not for opening a door. For face recognition in dusty sites, see the factory attendance guide, and for more door kits, the door access control price guide.

FAQ

What security system is best for a warehouse in India?

Combine infrared beams on the boundary, a GSM and Wi-Fi alarm panel with shutter, door and motion sensors, an outdoor siren, card access on the office door and fingerprint attendance. Our list for a single-shed godown totals ₹43,494.

How much does a warehouse alarm system cost?

The intrusion alarm in this guide (panel, two beam runs, shutter sensor, door sensor, two motion sensors and a solar siren) costs ₹19,096 at our current prices.

Do beam sensors give false alarms?

They can if leaves, birds or stacked material block the line. Triple-beam sensors such as the ABT-250 reduce this because all beams must be broken. Keep the line clear and do not exceed the rated distance.

Can a beam sensor work without wiring back to the alarm panel?

The beam itself still needs power at both ends. The CN35 kit adds an MCT-43 wireless sensor so the alarm signal reaches a 433 MHz wireless panel by radio, without a signal cable.

Will the warehouse alarm call me at night?

Yes. The ACJ-400 uses Wi-Fi and GSM and dials or messages preset numbers when a sensor trips. Keep an active SIM in it.

Can I sound the warehouse hooter from my phone?

Yes. The Combo-CN203 pairs the 1 km SR-1K hooter with a Tuya Wi-Fi switch, so you can switch it from the app.
