Frequently asked questions
Will these phones show who is calling?
No. The C11 phones have no caller ID screen. The CCL 108 supports caller ID, so you can swap in Beetel C51 or M71 phones where you want to see the caller.
Can I add more phones later?
Every one of the 8 extension ports is used by the phones in this kit, so there is no spare port.
Can I use it without a landline?
Yes. With no outside line connected, the phones still call each other as an intercom.
I have no landline. Can I use a mobile SIM?
Yes. Add a GSM gateway, which works as the outside line.
How do I wire it?
Run 2-core telephone cable from each phone back to the system, connect the outside line to the LINE port and each phone to an EXT port. Keep it about 30 cm away from mains wiring, and use an MDF box for 8 phones.
Will callers hear music when on hold?
Yes. The listing includes music on hold.
Can I stop STD or ISD calls from some phones?
Yes. The listing says it supports outgoing local, STD and ISD call restriction.
Will it work during a power cut?
The listing does not confirm battery backup for the CCL 108. Do not connect a battery unless the manual shows a battery input.
What is an EPABX?
An EPABX is a small phone exchange. It shares a few outside lines between many extensions and lets staff call each other free of charge on an intercom.
Do I need special phones?
No. Standard corded or cordless telephones work as extensions. Simple 2 core telephone wire connects each extension to the exchange.
How do I choose the number of lines and extensions?
Pick the number of outside lines that can be in use at the same time and the number of desks or rooms to connect, then add some spare extensions for growth.
Is technical support available?
Yes. Free technical support is available for installation and setup.
