433 MHz Remote and Receiver Guide for Gates and Electronic Locks
A remote works with a receiver only when both use the same radio frequency and the receiver can learn that remote. Our RR-series receivers are 433 MHz, but we also sell 315 MHz remotes, and the RM-SGM remote works only with NavKar Systems sliding gate motors. Check the frequency in the product title before you buy, and ask us if you are unsure.
This guide explains what to check before buying a remote or receiver for a gate motor or electronic lock.
How do I know a remote will work with my receiver?
Match the frequency first: a 433 MHz receiver needs a 433 MHz remote. The RR-120143 12V 1 channel 433 MHz receiver (₹499) is sold in kits with 433 MHz remotes, such as the Combo-CN273 with 2 RM-BL0243 remotes (₹999) and the Combo-CN286 with 2 RM-WH0143 remotes (₹1,099). Other 433 MHz remotes include the RM-BL0443 4 button remote (₹349). The RM-BR0231 and RM-BU0231 remotes are 315 MHz, so they are not for a 433 MHz receiver.
A matching frequency is needed, but the coding must also suit the receiver. The RM-SGM gate remote, for example, is a learning-code remote that its listing says works only with NavKar Systems sliding gate motors. When you are adding a remote to an existing receiver, send us the receiver model first.
Which receiver do I need: 12V or 220V, 1 or 4 channels?
Pick the receiver by its supply voltage and the number of things it switches. Each channel is a separate output.
- RR-120143: 12V, 1 channel, 433 MHz, ₹499. One lock or one device.
- RR-120243: 12V, 2 channels, 433 MHz, ₹699.
- RR-120443: 12V, 4 channels, 433 MHz, ₹999.
- RR-220143: 220V, 1 channel, ₹599.
What range can I expect?
Range is quoted for open areas. The RR-120143 listing says about 30 metres in open areas, while the RM-BL0443 and RM-WH0143 remote listings quote 50 to 100 metres. Walls and metal near the receiver reduce range, so test it from where you will actually press the remote.
Do I need a power supply for an electronic lock?
Most electronic door locks need a DC power supply that matches the lock voltage and current. Check the lock product page for its requirement and choose a supply with some spare capacity. The RR-120143 listing says the lock and power supply are not included. If you would rather have the receiver built into the supply, the PSRM-01 remote power supply (₹1,850) is made to operate an electronic door lock by remote. For supply sizing and battery backup, read our access control power supply guide.
Can I add more remotes later?
Yes, if the new remote matches the receiver. Our SGM series sliding gate motors (SGM-370, SGM-550, SGM-750 and SGM-1200) come with 2 remotes, and the RM-SGM 4 button remote (₹1,249) adds more for family members or drivers. For a 433 MHz lock receiver, the RM-BL0243 set of 5 (₹1,850) is the simplest way to cover a whole family. Check the remote product page for compatibility.
A radio remote only works within range of the receiver. To open a gate from anywhere, add a Wi-Fi module or GSM opener instead; our GSM and Wi-Fi gate opener guide compares the options, and the sliding gate motor buying guide covers remotes and safety for gate motors.

FAQ
Will a 315 MHz remote work with a 433 MHz receiver?
No. The remote and receiver must use the same frequency. The RM-BR0231 and RM-BU0231 remotes are 315 MHz; the RR-120143, RR-120243 and RR-120443 receivers are 433 MHz.
Can I use any remote with my NavKar sliding gate motor?
No. Use the RM-SGM remote (₹1,249). Its listing says it works only with NavKar Systems sliding gate motors, and asks you to contact us before buying.
What range does a 433 MHz remote give?
It depends on the remote, the receiver and the site. The RR-120143 receiver listing says about 30 metres in open areas; the RM-BL0443 and RM-WH0143 remotes quote 50 to 100 metres. Walls and metal reduce range.
Do remotes need Wi-Fi or internet?
No. A radio remote talks to the receiver directly, so it keeps working when the internet is down.
What does the number of channels mean?
Each channel is a separate output. A 1 channel receiver such as the RR-120143 (₹499) switches one lock or device; the RR-120443 (₹999) has 4 channels.
