How do I open my door lock with a phone app?

Use a Wi-Fi power supply such as the PSWF-01. It powers the lock and lets you unlock it from the app over your home Wi-Fi.

Can I open the lock from upstairs?

Yes. A remote kit opens the lock from anywhere in the house, and switch power supply kits let you fit unlock buttons on several floors or flats.
