What should you check before buying from India?

Buying across borders is mostly about compatibility. Work through these points for every line on your order. Our voltage, plug, frequency and GSM checklist goes into each one with the stated specs of common products.

• Mains voltage and frequency. India's supply is 230 V at 50 Hz with plug types C, D and M. Some of our power supplies list a wide input range (the PK-80 lists AC 110 to 240 V), while others, such as the SGM-370 motor-only listing, state 220 V AC 50 Hz. Check every item against your site supply and your local wiring rules.
• Plugs. Indian plugs may not fit your sockets. A plug adaptor changes the pin shape, not the voltage, so check your local rules on fitting plugs.
