1. Wi-Fi module: open the gate from anywhere through an app
The WFC-SGM connects your gate motor to your home Wi-Fi. You open and close the gate from the Smart Life app, from the drawing room or from another city. Its listing adds a timer schedule and a history record, so you can see when the gate was operated.
Its limit is the network. It connects on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only, so a 5 GHz-only router will not work, and the signal must reach the motor at the gate. A gate 30 metres down a driveway behind a concrete wall may need a Wi-Fi extender. If the internet goes down, the app stops working, but the remotes keep working.
Choose Wi-Fi if: you live at the property, have good 2.4 GHz coverage at the gate, and want the lowest cost way to open it from your phone.
2. GSM opener: open the gate with a free phone call
The RTU5024 holds a SIM card. When an authorised number calls it, it rejects the call, so there is no call charge, and switches its relay, which works like pressing the gate's open button. Unknown callers are ignored. You can store up to 200 numbers, add or remove them by SMS, and get an SMS confirmation when the relay acts.
It needs no Wi-Fi and no app, which makes it the natural choice for farmhouses, warehouses, plots and society gates where giving out remotes is a headache. You do need mobile coverage at the gate, a SIM kept recharged, and a 12 V DC 1 A supply for the unit. Our GSM and Wi-Fi gate opener guide explains relay wiring in more detail.
Choose GSM if: the gate has no Wi-Fi, you want many people to open it without an app, or you manage the gate from far away.
3. In-car Bluetooth: open the gate from your car
This USB-powered module connects to the gate motor system and pairs with your phone or your car's Bluetooth, so the driver can open the gate on arrival without hunting for a remote. Bluetooth is a short-range link, so it works as you approach the gate, not from across the city.
Choose Bluetooth if: you mainly want hands-free convenience for daily driving in and out, and phone control from far away is not important.
4. Wireless keypad: open the gate with a PIN
The DK-SGM is a weatherproof keypad mounted near the gate. Anyone who knows the PIN can open it, with no phone or remote needed. The listing gives a rolling code system, lit buttons for night use, a range of 200 metres in the open and 35 metres indoors, and about 2 years of battery life. It warns with two low beeps when the battery runs low, and the range can drop by 25 to 30 percent on weak batteries. Avoid mounting it on metal, which blocks the signal. It is listed as compatible only with Navkar Systems gate openers.
Choose a keypad if: children, domestic staff, drivers or delivery people need to come in without a phone app, and you are happy to change the PIN when someone leaves.
What about a normal remote?
Every SGM sliding gate motor already comes with 2 remotes. Extra RM-SGM 4-button remotes cost ₹1,249 each and work only with Navkar Systems sliding gate motors. A remote is still the fastest and most reliable way to open the gate, because it needs no network. Our 433 MHz remote and receiver guide explains frequencies and pairing.
