Short answer: in India a sliding gate motor costs about ₹22,500 to ₹35,000 for the motor alone, depending on gate weight: ₹22,500 for a 600 kg gate, ₹25,500 for 1200 kg, ₹32,500 for 1500 kg and ₹35,000 for 2000 kg. A ready kit with gear rails, an obstacle sensor and a siren lamp costs ₹31,500 to ₹41,500. Gear rack is ₹1,399 per metre, a Wi-Fi module ₹1,849 and an extra remote ₹1,249. What decides the motor size

Two things: how heavy the gate is, and how long it is. Weight picks the motor. Every model below is rated for a maximum gate weight, so choose a motor rated above your gate weight. Length picks the gear rack. The rack is bolted along the gate and the motor's pinion drives it, so you need rack for the full length of the gate.

Worked example: a 4-metre, 500 kg house gate

Say your gate is about 4 metres long and about 500 kg. The SGM-370 is rated up to 600 kg, so it is the right motor. Here is what the full setup costs with real prices:

Total: about ₹30,945, with the safety sensor, 4 metres of 12 mm rack, 2 remotes and phone control.

Two other ways to build the same gate:

  • Plain SGM-370 (₹22,500) + 4 m GR-12M rack (₹5,596) + SB-10 sensor pack (₹2,999) + Wi-Fi module (₹1,849) = ₹32,944.
  • SGM-370 kit with 4 gear rails (₹32,950, approx. 13 ft of rail, sensor and siren lamp included) + Wi-Fi module (₹1,849) = ₹34,799. If your gate is a little longer than 13 ft, take the 5-rail kit.

Installation, cable and the civil base for the motor are not in these prices.

What moves the price

  • Gate weight. This sets the motor. Going from the 600 kg SGM-370 to the 1200 kg SGM-550 adds ₹3,000. The 2000 kg SGM-1200 is ₹12,500 more than the SGM-370.
  • Gate length. Each metre of 12 mm GI rack adds ₹1,399. In the kits, each extra rail adds about ₹1,450 to ₹1,550.
  • Kit or separate parts. Kits are simple to order and include a siren lamp. Buying the motor and GR-12M rack separately lets you choose the heavier 12 mm rack; the GR-12M listing notes that rail supplied with a motor is generally 8 mm.
  • Safety and control extras. A sensor, Wi-Fi module, keypad or GSM opener each adds ₹1,849 to ₹3,999. Most homes need the sensor and one control upgrade, not all of them.
  • Installation. Our team guides you on call for free. On-site installation is charged extra and quoted on distance from Ambala.

Choose a motor rated above your gate weight. A 500 kg gate takes the 600 kg SGM-370; a 1000 kg gate takes the 1200 kg SGM-550.

Can I open the gate during a power cut?

Yes. Release the clutch with the supplied keys and the gate slides by hand. Lock the clutch again when power returns.
